- The Dutchman vented that decisions never fall in favour of his side using VAR
Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman could be away from the touchline for four matches following his verbal outburst against the Video Assisted Referee (VAR).
Koeman was left furious last month when his Barca side were defeated 3-1 at home by bitter rivals Real Madrid in El Clasico, with VAR playing a huge role in the outcome of the fixture.
The Dutchman was seen to have questioned the neutrality of the system, making his case that decisions seemingly never fall in favour of Barca when the person behind the screen is making the decisions.
Ronald Koeman is staring down a potential four-match ban for his criticism of VAR
Koeman told reporters after the game: ‘In all the matches that we have had, it (VAR) has only come against Barcelona, but never in favour of us.
‘It also did so in the matches against Getafe and Sevilla, due to plays against ours.’
Spanish publication Marca outline that Koeman could now be hit with a four game suspension away from the dug-out, after bringing into question the integrity of the refereeing system.

There may however be a loophole for Koeman, who did not specifically criticise any of the officials directly but rather the system itself.
Cautious after his outburst post El Clasico, Koeman was more reserved last week when asked to comment upon the usage of VAR during Barca’s clash with Alaves and a potential penalty on Frenkie de Jong.
Koeman refused to comment on the incident, and instead spoke just of the match itself.
Barca currently find themselves in 12th place in La Liga following a slow start to the season, having taken eight points from six matches.
Arch rivals Real Madrid are in second with 16 points as things currently stand, one point adrift of leaders Real Sociedad.
