TRANSFER GOSSIP: Fulham find Aleksandar Mitrovic’s replacement in PSG’s Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool intensify talks over Ryan Gravenberch and Manchester United eye move for Marco Verratti

After a sizzling second weekend of Premier League action, managers are looking to finesse their squads as the transfer window enters its final weeks.  

Whilst £115m signing Moises Caicedo failed to dazzle on display in his debut for Chelsea, Liverpool’s consolation signing Wataru Endo looked the genuine article in their 3-1 victory over Bournemouth. 

Fulham agreed a club-record £46m fee for Aleksandar Mitrovic after ‘reluctantly’ allowing the striker to join Saudi Pro League behemoth Al-Hilal, leaving an important gap in Marco Silva’s squad after their 3-0 defeat to Brentford on Saturday. 

And West Ham’s negotiations with Ajax over the sale of starlet Mohammed Kudus grew ever more complicated, despite the forward’s desire to leave the Eredivisie side this summer.

Liverpool are in the midst of additional discussions with Bayern Munich over a deal for Ryan Gravenberch, with Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure also among their midfield targets. (Mail Sport) 

Fulham are looking into a bid for Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike to take up the reins leading the line following the departure of Mitrovic. (The Sun)

The club are also mulling a move for PSG’s Marco Verratti, who is being offered to a move away from Parc des Princes, with various Saudi Pro League sides also in the running for the midfielder’s signature. (Mirror)

Forest have agreed a provisional deal to bring in Sevilla’s Gonzalo Montiel, with the right-back set to cost the club around £9.4m pending the completion of his medical. (The Athletic) 

PSG are preparing to table a second bid for Randal Kolo Muani after their initial offer of £51m (€60m) plus bonuses was rejected by Eintracht Frankfurt. The Bundesliga side are thought to be holding out for £85m (€100m) for the France international. (L’Equipe)

Barcelona are thought to be tracking Leroy Sane at Bayern Munich, with a view to making a move for the 27-year-old during next summer’s transfer window. (BILD)
