Tottenham have been linked with several ins and outs in the January transfer window. However, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has said he is “not expecting” any new arrivals this month. The north London club were busy in the previous window.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Matt Doherty were signed from Premier League rivals Southampton and Wolves respectively.

Gareth Bale re-signed on loan from Real Madrid, while Sergio Reguilon completed a permanent move from the La Liga giants.

But when asked about Spurs’ January business, Mourinho said: “I’m not expecting, no.

“Times are not easy. The club made a big effort in the summer to try and build a good squad.

“Honestly, if something good happened for us, it would be a big surprise for me.”

Who could Tottenham sign in January?

Nicolas Gonzalez (Stuttgart)

Spurs have reportedly held talks over a move for Gonzalez this month.

The 22-year-old was a key player for Stuttgart last season as the earned £23million.

Eder Militao (Real Madrid)

Spurs are said to be interested in signing Militao on loan this month.

The Brazilian behind Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane in the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane.

Mourinho is keen to bring in another centre-back after being linked with Milan Skriniar last summer.

Who could leave Tottenham in January?

Dele Alli

Alli has been linked with a move away from Spurs after falling out of favour under Mourinho this season.

A reunion with Mauricio Pocettino at Paris Saint-Germain has since been speculated.

Harry Winks

Winks has been in and out of the side this season and has been linked with a move away.

Valencia were one of the clubs reportedly keen to take him on loan this month.

Mourinho, though, has since hit back at talks of the player leaving.

He said: “What do I have to say to stop with this talk? I said already, he’s going nowhere. He’s going nowhere. So when I say he’s going nowhere, what more do you want me to say?”
