Spurs: Mourinho disappointed with Wolves draw
Tottenham have made Diego Costa their priority ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports in Spain. The talismanic striker is now a free agent following his release from Atletico Madrid, which was confirmed by the La Liga leaders earlier today.
Costa had just over six months remaining on his current Atletico deal but held honest talks with the club over his future.
He claimed he wanted out of the Wanda Metropolitano due to “personal reasons” and Diego Simeone was happy to comply.
The 32-year-old was one of the club’s top earners and his departure will help free up some cash ahead of the January transfer window.
It looks like Costa could well land in the Premier League, with several English clubs thought to be interested.

According to Spanish outlet La Razon, Spurs are now in the fray and Jose Mourinho is desperate for a reunion with his former striker.
Mourinho brought Costa to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2014 after he fired Atletico to the La Liga title and Champions League final.
He helped the Blues win the Premier League in his first season in west London and was a champion again in 2017 under Antonio Conte.
The Italian wanted rid of Costa and he was eventually sold back to Atletico in January 2018 for a reported fee of £50million.

Costa is determined to stay in Europe after receiving a host of offers from China and Brazil.
Now Mourinho has allegedly asked Daniel Levy to offer Costa a contract in north London, as he looks to bolster his attacking options.
Carlos Vinicius has disappointed since arriving from Benfica and the Brazilian has been suffering with fitness problems of late.
With Harry Kane and Son Heung-min looking tired, Spurs are in desperate need of some reinforcements in attack.
Gareth Bale is now set for a spell on the sidelines with a muscle injury and Lucas Moura could also miss tomorrow’s clash with Fulham.
Yet Tottenham are likely to have stern competition when it comes to signing Costa.
Arsenal are believed to be among those interested as Edu targets another centre-forward.
Everton, Napoli and Fenerbahce are also among a list of clubs said to be in the running for the striker.
