Tottenham won’t be landing Feyenoord chief Dennis te Kloese as their new technical director this summer – even if Arne Slot does trade Rotterdam for north London. The 48-year-old general manager has confirmed he has recently rejected an approach from Spurs and now he has vowed to continue building at De Kuip.
It’s believed Tottenham were prepared to offer a compensation package for Te Kloese, who has played his part in Feyenoord’s Eredivisie title success.
Yet the Dutch giants were not prepared to accept the approach after Te Kloese told them he was prepared to ignore interest and stay.
He has since disclosed to De Telegraaf: “I am not going to deny that an offer came in, but I will say straight away that it did not make me consider taking things up again with the family and moving.
“I joined Feyenoord to build something beautiful – and we are doing that together.

“We are off to a great start and want to achieve even more. It would be strange to stop at Feyenoord so soon.”
Te Kloese spent almost 20 years working in Mexico and the United States before returning to Dutch football in 2022 with Feyenoord.
He has since confirmed that Tottenham are yet to have made an approach for highly-rated tactician Slot, although it’s believed Spurs have been in touch.
“No, there has been no request from Tottenham,” Te Kloese said.

“In February, there was concrete interest from Leeds United, but we and Arne said, ‘no’ to that. Arne did not want to go to Leeds and I think that was a very good decision.
“We went a long way with Arne, broke [renegotiated] his contract last year. We are more than satisfied with him and if there is interest in him, we will hear about it. Sometimes it is also very nice to realise what you have.”
Slot is among the current frontrunners for the Tottenham job although Julian Nagelsmann is said to have re-entered Tottenham’s thinking.
Both managers remain in the frame for the job alongside Luis Enrique and Ange Postecoglou.
Tottenham are also working hard on the appointment of a new sporting director with Tim Steidten among the names of firm interest.
Steidten recently confirmed he has now received an offer from the Premier League although he has not disclosed which club the offer came from.
Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto is also among the names in the mix following Fabio Paratici’s departure.
Tottenham are now at risk of missing out on European football next season following the 3-1 home defeat to Brentford.
