Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been urged to replace Wout Weghorst with Victor Osimhen this summer. Former Red Devils striker Louis Saha claims the Nigerian is a United fan, which he feels will make the deal easier to complete.
United are set to be in the market for a striker this summer. Anthony Martial’s future is in doubt following another injury-hit campaign, while Weghorst is only on loan from Burnley.
Tottenham’s Harry Kane is a top target for Ten Hag. But luring him away from the north London club would be a difficult task.
Osimhen has been on fire for Napoli this season and is another target for United. He scored twice in the Champions League win over Frankfurt on Wednesday to make it 23 goals in all competitions this term.
At 24, he would be a longer-term option for United than 29-year-old Kane. Weghorst, meanwhile, turns 31 later this year.

Saha says the Dutchman is not the type of striker United should be building their attack around. However, he feels Osimhen would fit the bill, with the added bonus of already supporting the club.
Saha told Paddy Power: “Victor Osimhen is another striker we’ve seen that is linked with Manchester United and I believe that he’s a United fan, which would work nicely. It’s clear to see that with the style of play that Erik Ten Hag likes to play, there is room for improvement in the striker position.
“I don’t see Wout Weghorst being a threat up top on his own, like what we’ve seen in the past with Andy Cole and Ruud van Nistelrooy, who could score goals on their own, and that’s not the strength of Weghorst.”
Osimhen has just over two years remaining on his contract at Napoli. However, the Serie A leaders would likely still demand a fee of up to £100m to let him leave this summer.

Rangers legend Ally McCoist is in awe of Osimhen and says he would be a top signing for United. McCoist told talkSPORT: “He’s physical, he’s quick, he’s aggressive and I’ll tell you something, the best header I’ve seen in about five years [against Frankfurt].
“Obviously, I’ve seen a lot of Napoli this year, I backed them actually for the Champions League months ago. This fella is the real deal, I’ll tell you right now.
“If Manchester United or even Chelsea, I know Chelsea have already signed the guy from Leipzig, but I’ll tell you right now, he’s the real deal this guy.”
