Richarlison, Armel Bella-Kotchap, Jan Bednarek and Ben Davies were all taken off injured in a strange first half that was constantly disrupted by injuries, but saw both sides able to create chances. 

Pedro Porro opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time as Tottenham took the lead just before the break, with a well-struck finish from inside the box after a brilliant pass from Son Heung-min. 

Che Adams stunned the visitors inside 60 seconds of the second period by tapping home inside the box following a brilliant move involving Romeo Lavia and Theo Walcott. 

But Spurs regained the lead on 65 minutes through Harry Kane, who scored his 12th career goal against the Saints from close range. Ivan Perisic made it 3-1 for his first  at Spurs, before Theo Walcott made it 3-2 to set up a nervous ending just three minutes later. 

James Ward-Prowse then sealed the dramatic comeback with an emphatic penalty in the 93rd minute to pick up a vital point for the home side.
