Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison was on the brink of tears when he limped off in the first half of Spurs’ clash against Southampton.
The Brazilian has experienced an incredibly inconsistent debut campaign for Antonio Conte’s side. His first season has been punctuated with niggling injuries and frighteningly inconsistent periods of form which has seen him contribute only two goals and four assists in 28 appearances in all competitions.
Unfortunately for the Brazilian international, things are only getting worse as he limped off after only three minutes at St James’ Park.

The former Everton forward tried to be stoic as he trudged, disappointingly, off the pitch. A Tottenham physio put his hand on his back, before Richarlison put his shirt over his head.
He then went on to shake the hands of both Conte and current Southampton manager Ruben Selles, before he headed down the tunnel at St Marys. Richarlison recently landed himself in hot water after he described his start to life at Tottenham as being “s***”.

Conte then snapped back by using Richarlison’s own word to describe how he feels the striker had been playing. "First of all, I watched the interview of Richarlison. He didn't criticise me," Conte said at his press conference on Friday.
"He said his season was s***, and he's right. His season has not been good. He had injuries, played and scored in the Champions League and then went to the World Cup and then had a serious injury.
“He's scored no goals for us. I think he was really honest to say his season was not good. His season has not finished yet. If he deserves to play, I'll give him the opportunity."
If the injury is as serious as it initially appeared on the South Coast, he may have to wait patiently, before his next opportunity arrives.
