Declan Rice's true feelings over West Ham and a potential exit have come to light in a boost to the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United.
The England international was heavily linked with a move away in the summer with Chelsea desperate to complete a deal.
But West Ham stood firm over their £100m valuation and refused to negotiate, a price that the Blues were never going to reach.
Instead, they moved for Saul Niguez on loan from Atletico Madrid – who could be made permanent for a fee of around £30m.
It has allowed the likes of United and Liverpool to up their interest in Rice as they look to bolster their own midfields.
And they have received a boost in their pursuit after it became clear that the 22-year-old is keen on leaving the Hammers after being disappointed with the summer's transfer business.
Rice wanted to hear what his options were after several sides registered an interest in him.
But West Ham refused to even open negotiations after pricing the midfielder at £100m – an unrealistic total for any club in the Premier League.
And that could change in 2022 with Eurosport reporting that Rice sees this as his last season in east London.
The Englishman has close ties with Chelsea having been an academy product there until the age of 14 when he was released.
