Despite Manchester United's title challenge ending on Tuesday evening with defeat to Leicester City, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side still have a chance to capture some silverware this campaign.
United face Villarreal in the Europa League final – at the end of the month – after they put Roma to the sword in the semi-final.
However, the Red Devils may be without club captain – and defensive stalwart – Harry Maguire for the clash – as he faces a race against time to be fit for the final.
Maguire has been at the heart of the United defence since his move up north in 2019, and Solskjaer faces a selection headache.
“He's obviously had the scans, and the good news is there is no fracture,” the Norwegian said ahead of their Leicester fixture.
"The good news is that he [Maguire] has not broken anything, it is just ligament damage, and we hope to see him again before the Europa League final."
Maguire, who had played every minute in the Premier League prior to Leicester, would be the United gaffers first choice, should he be available.
Victor Lindelof has partnered with Maguire for the majority of the season, and he has looked assured in recent games for United; he will probably be given the nod.
However, should Maguire not be fit for the fixture, it leaves a spot open next to Lindelof.
Eric Bailly is Solskjaer's first choice; the Ivorian replaced Maguire when he came off injured against Aston Villa, and he started against Leicester on Tuesday evening.
However, Bailly has fallen down the pecking order since Jose Mourinho left, and persistent injury worries would mean the Norwegian would have to cover him in bubble wrap through United's hectic run-in.
Alex Tuanzebe, who also started against Leicester, is United's wildcard; the Englishman was unplayable against PSG earlier this season – however, he has barely featured since.
