Roy Keane is known for being the angry, irritated pundit that everyone has learnt to love, but a former teammate has claimed one of the Irishman’s stories is a lie.
Since retiring in 2006, Keane has slowly but surely become one of the most sought-after characters on television.
The former Manchester United midfielder, who won seven Premier League titles and the Champions League once, is adored for his sharp, unfiltered comments and hilarious anecdotes.
Speaking to Gary Neville on Sky Sport’s The Overlap, the 50-year-old revealed that he had a fight with Peter Schmeichel when they shared a dressing room, he then went on to say: “I had a fight with Pally [Gary Pallister] in Marbella, and I was with Pally a few weeks ago, great guy!
“I vaguely remember [Sir] Bobby Charlton opening the door and seeing me and him; I bet he was thinking f*****g hell! But I think we won the league that year, so it helped.”
However, Pallister has since come out and said that their quarrel was nothing more than that, rather than a ‘fight’.
The former England international told Free Super Tips : “It was probably because we had a couple of drinks and it wasn't a fight, more of an altercation shall we say.
“It was nothing, I wouldn't call it a fight, more of a heated exchange but it was probably because we had a drink.
“It was forgotten about the next day and it was never a problem between us, Roy is a great person and was a great leader in our dressing room.”

Keane and Pallister were teammates between 1993 and 1998 at United under Sir Alex Ferguson as they became one of the best teams the English top-flight has ever seen.
Pallister continued: “We all know what he's like, he has a strong opinion on things as we see in his punditry, but it doesn't mean everyone agrees with him.
“It happens all over in the football world and the game we played was very physical.”
Keane has since formed a brilliant duo with Micah Richards on Sky Sports, with the two very different personalities making great television for everyone, football fan or not.
