Gary Neville said Victor Lindelof was "excellent" in Manchester United’s defeat to Juventus .
And Red Devils fans agreed with the Old Trafford, with many claiming he was the team’s best performer.
It comes as something of a surprise after the centre-half has spent the season struggling for form.
Earlier in the season, Neville described a United back four which included Lindelof as being "nowhere near good enough".
In the wake of the team’s Premier League defeat to Brighton in August, he said the Sweden international had been "poor", claiming none of the centre-backs were "authoritative".
But on Tuesday night, the 24-year-old looked solid and composed as he coped well with the threat of Juventus forwards Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala.
The Italian giants side won the Champions League match 1-0 thanks to a Dybala strike midway through the first half.
Jose Mourinho’s side were generally below par, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata failing to make an impact.
However, Lindelof was singled out for praise by Neville and supporters. Jody Morris, the former Chelsea midfielder, also named the defender as the star man.
