Mesut Ozil has named his strongest XI of players he has played with while at Arsenal, picking only one current Gunners star.
Unsettled playmaker Ozil took part in another Q and A session on his Twitter to answer any queries fans had.
Of course, there were plenty of fans asking about his impending move to Fenerbahce, which Ozil all but confirmed.
But @sirgunner1886 also asked: “Who is your top Arsenal XI in the era you played for the club?”
Ozil has been an Arsenal player since 2013, ever since he joined from Real Madrid for just under £40m, and has taken to the field with some of Arsenal’s best players in recent memory.
And that was reflected in his answer with current captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the only team-mate still in north London to make the cut.
He tweeted back: “Ospina – Sagna, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Kolasinac – Cazorla, Ramsey – Serge Gnabry, Özil, Alexis Sanchez – Aubameyang.”
A few of those selections are likely to raise some eyebrows, perhaps the likes of Per Mertesacker and Bacary Sagna, while close pal Sead Kolasinac was likely pushed up the pecking order due to his friendship with Ozil.
Recent Champions League winner Serge Gnabry failed to find his feet at Arsenal, but Ozil has probably given him the nod for his recent performances at Bayern Munich.
Fenerbahce president Ali Koc offered an update on the Turkish side’s pursuit of Ozil, insisting that a move was becoming increasingly more likely.
"Let me tell you the latest on Mesut Ozil," Fenerbahce chief Koc told Canal+. "We’ve said it would be a dream for Fenerbahce.
"The club knows what the coach wants and our transfer policy is guided by that. There hasn’t been an official announcement.
"What I can say is we are closer than before. There may be a resolution, there may not be a resolution. Fenerbahce SK will make the announcement when the time comes."
