Manchester United could have a frightening first team next season following the signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. Here, Express Sport looks at the exciting XI Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could field if football director John Murtough is successful in bringing three more targets to the Premier League giants in the summer transfer window.
Goalkeeper – Dean Henderson
Henderson ousted David de Gea as United’s first-choice keeper during the second half of last season, and is likely to start with the shirt next term.
De Gea is of course a more than able deputy, giving Solskjaer options as the United boss targets success domestically and in the Champions League.
Tom Heaton was the Red Devils’ first signing of the summer as he rejoined from Aston Villa, ensuring the Old Trafford side won’t be short in between the sticks.

Defence – Kieran Trippier, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw
United could have a new-look defence next season, with Raphael Varane their next target after the signing of Sancho was wrapped up.
The 28-year-old will partner skipper Harry Maguire in the centre of defence if the Red Devils can agree a fee with Real Madrid.
United are also targeting Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier, who could oust Aaron Wan-Bissaka from the first XI.
While Wan-Bissaka’s defensive qualities are renowned, Trippier would offer a more attacking option to complement the in-form Luke Shaw on the opposite side of defence.

Midfield – Scott McTominay, Eduardo Camavinga, Bruno Fernandes
United have been linked with Rennes teenager Eduardo Camavinga, who is regarded as one of the rising stars of French football.
Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also said to be keen on the 18-year-old, but if United beat their rivals to his signature he could succeed the much-criticised Fred in Solskjaer’s double pivot.
Bruno Fernandes will of course continue as the Red Devils’ attacking playmaker, with the Portugal star one of the first names on his manager’s team sheet.
And if Paul Pogba leaves for PSG, it could open up more opportunities for Donny van de Beek to finally make his mark at United following his switch from Ajax last summer.
Attack – Jadon Sancho, Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford
Jadon Sancho will be looking to nail down United’s right-wing spot after finally completing his £73million move from Dortmund this week.
Marcus Rashford was tried on the right at times last season but is much more effective on the left, where he can reprise his at times devastating link-up with Shaw.
Premier League done deals: Every confirmed transfer in the top flight
Edinson Cavani will look to start a lot more games up front, where his movement and know-how gives United a different dimension.
But he will face tough compeition from deadly finisher Mason Greenwood, who hit form in the second half of last season and will look to keep learning from the former PSG star.
