Amad Diallo demonstrates skills in training before Man Utd move
Manchester United are reportedly set to go head-to-head with Paris-Saint-Germain in the battle for Brest midfielder Romain Faivre. The 22-year-old was signed from Monaco for just £450,000 in the summer but has impressed in Ligue 1 since his arrival.
Champions League runners-up PSG are among those who have been impressed by the French midfielder and according to Le10Sport, Man Utd are also interested in the left-footed midfielder.
Despite being 22, Faivre only made four appearances for the Monaco first team during his three years at the club, with his last coming in the 2018/19 campaign.
He spent the whole of last season with the Monaco B side before joining Brest in the summer.
Faivre has excelled since his arrival though, with four goals and three assists, and he was rewarded with a new contract until 2025 just months after his arrival.

He is hugely versatile. In his first 19 appearances at Brest, he has been used on both flanks in midfield and as a winger, he has played as a centre midfielder and in Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to PSG he was even used as a striker.
PSG are expected to spend in January having appointed ex-Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino earlier this month.
Former boss Thomas Tuchel won the Ligue 1 title in both seasons at the club and guided Paris Saint-Germain to their first Champions League final in the club’s history in August. But the German failed to deliver the trophy the owners crave most, losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich, and after a below-par start to the current campaign, the club decided to part with their head coach on December 23.
As for United, they have already strengthened their squad in January with the signing of winger Amad Diallo from Atalanta in a £37 million deal.

The 18-year-old, who can play on either flank, arrived at the club on Thursday but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in no rush to get him into the side.
Diallo has only played five times for the Atalanta first team, with just two substitute outings this season.
Solskjaer has suggested he will integrate the Ivory Coast-born winger in a similar way to Facundo Pellistri, who has yet to appear for United since his arrival in October and has only been on the first team bench twice so far.
Speaking on Friday, Solskjaer told the club website: “We’ll do the same as we did with Facundo [Pellistri].
“He joins in the training with the first team and gets settled in. Then we need to give him match time. First team or Under-23s, we’re not going to be able to say now. Let’s see how he takes to it.
“You’ve got kids who just come in and tell us, as staff, that they’re ready for the difficult games.
“He’s a young boy who we’ve watched for a few years. We’ve seen him here [in England] play in the UEFA Youth League for the kids.
“He’s got special abilities, of course. Very good balance, reads the game really well and, for a young boy, he seems very mature in his decision-making. [He’s] a boy that we’re excited to develop further.
“Of course, we know he’s a young boy who’s going to learn his trade and come into a new country and new style of football, so we’ve got to be patient with him.”
United are set to miss out on one of their transfer targets though, with Declan Rice reportedly telling friends he is not interested in a move to Old Trafford, with his boyhood club Chelsea expected to make a move this year.
