Manchester United fans think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a gesture to legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson during the draw against Everton.

The Norwegian’ 100th game in charge of the Red Devils did not end in smiles as his side concede a 2-0 half-time lead to end 3-3 against the Toffees.

While they put themselves at risk of losing ground on Manchester City, the manager has gone a long way to getting United back to their best under the legendary Scot.

But Solskjaer also appeared to be making a call-back of his own to his former boss Sir Alex during the draw against Everton.

Throughout the match, the 47-year-old was wearing a black overcast with a black fleece zipped to the top underneath.

He certainly needed the layers as the freezing temperatures whirled around Old Trafford.

But fans on Reddit realised that it bore a huge resemblance to the outfit Sir Alex was regularly seen wearing in the technical area.

“Ole in prime Sir Alex attire,” one supporter said.

Another commented: “That sweater couldn’t stop reminding me of our legend.”

While a third came up with a new nickname for the United boss, with: “Olex Feruskjaer.”

And a fourth sarcastically added: “Looks a little bit like a kid wearing his dad’s suit when you put them next to each other.”

A fifth wrote: “That look will always be Sir Alex’s.

“That attire has etched itself into my head every time I think of SAF.”

Solskjaer saw Edinson Cavani and Bruno Fernandes strike to give his side a 2-0 lead at half time.

While Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez struck quickly after the restart, Scott McTominay thought he had won the game with 20 minutes to go.

But Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s 95th-minute toe-poke edged past David de Gea to deny United all three points.
