Man Utd bosses want handyman to build flatpack furniture for pampered players

Manchester United bosses are looking for a handyman to build flatpack furniture for its pampered stars.

Applicants must be able to turn their hand to carpentry, electrical jobs, install washing machines, and even do runs to the local tip. The “player support property technician” will also be on call for home emergencies like fixing burst pipes for the Premier League stars.

The Old Trafford outfit, which has made big signings under manager Erik ten Hag, is looking for a “team player” who will show “the utmost discretion” towards the club's superstars.

An ad posted by the club says they want an all-rounder “to assist the player support property manager with maintenance and emergencies”.

The job includes “all aspects of house moves and international relocation”, and the ability to “identify the needs of players”. A proper utility player – male or female – they will be expected to offer “technical support” and be on hand to “respond to emergencies and calls for assistance”.

Other tasks will include “minor plumbing repairs, installing household appliances and furniture, electrical work, waste removal, carpentry and grounds-keeping”.

The salary was not advertised for the position, but candidates are promised that “no two days are the same”.
