Man United 'are pushing hardest' to sign £105m-rated Kolo Muani

Manchester United ‘are pushing hardest’ to sign £105m-rated Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani, with Frenchman ‘viewed as a better option than Napoli’s Victor Osimhen’ – if club fail to secure Harry Kane

  • Randal Kolo Muani is making a name for himself with Eintracht Frankfurt
  • Frenchman also starred for national side and 24-year-old is attracting interest
  • Manchester United ‘favour Muani over a move for Victor Osimhen of Napoli’

Manchester United ‘are the club pushing hardest’ to sign Eintracht Frankfurt and France star Randal Kolo Muani.

The 24-year-old forward is one of a select number of transfer targets for Erik ten Hag’s men this summer, with the club looking to bring in a striker.

Harry Kane is still thought to be the No 1 choice but there is no guarantee negotiations will be straightforward with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

Alternatives, such as Kolo Muani and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen have emerged, but Sky Germany report that United rank the Frankfurt man higher than the Nigerian in terms of interest.

They report that Bayern Munich have already started talks with Kolo Muani’s representatives, with the player understood to be valued at around £105m.

The Eintracht Frankfurt star continues to impress in the Bundesliga this season

‘United push without end,’ the publication say. ‘They are on him. This is the club that is currently giving the most gas – even more than Bayern. At United, Kolo Muani is ranked higher than Victor Osimhen.’

In spite of the apparent interest at home and abroad, Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche last week denied any inquiries or approaches have yet been made for the player, while acknowledging that his star is a target for big clubs.

‘It’s normal for the attacker to arouse desires,’ he told Sky. ‘But Bayern Munich isn’t the only club dealing with him either.

‘On the other hand, Randal still feels very comfortable with us and he also has a lot of development areas that he can work on very well with us.’

Kolo Muani is a versatile player, who can operate as a central striker, out wide or in a slightly more withdrawn forward role.

He has 13 goals and 12 assists this season, showing he is as valuable for his creative exploits as scoring output.

In March, after he started alongside Kylian Mbappe for France, the PSG star lavished praise on him, saying he is ‘very complete’.

It seems Kolo Muani himself is ready for a move, previously saying: ‘We continue our performances and we will see this summer. Afterwards, I always dreamed of playing in big clubs.’
