Manchester City have been handed a double boost as Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane began stepping up recoveries from serious knee injuries.
The pair are now back in Manchester to continue their rehabilitation with a view to returns after the New Year.
While not yet doing work with the ball, their presence will act as a lift for Pep Guardiola, who lost two of his best players within weeks of each other earlier this season.

Sane limped out of the Community Shield in August, before Laporte came off during a 4-0 win over Brighton later that month.
The Germany international – a target for Bayern Munich – is back at the City Football Academy following time recuperating in Los Angeles, while Laporte has been in Barcelona.
Guardiola’s injury crisis appears to be softening slightly, with goalkeeper Ederson in contention to face Chelsea tomorrow (ONSAT).
Ederson missed out on the defeat by Liverpool before the international break, with Claudio Bravo deputising. City are nine points behind the Premier League leaders.
