Kylian Mbappe drops subtle hint about PSG exit to give Liverpool transfer boost

Kylian Mbappe has hinted that he could leave Paris St-Germain this summer over increasing scrutiny in France – which will come as music to Liverpool’s ears.

Mbappe, 22, drew criticism on Wednesday night after failing to impress in Les Bleus’ drab 1-0 World Cup qualifying victory away at Bosnia.

That unconvincing win came on the back of a 1-1 draw with Ukraine last week, before a below-par 2-0 win over minnows Kazakhstan on Sunday – in which he missed a penalty.

There were already doubts over Mbappe’s future at PSG, with his contract at the Parc des Princes set to expire next summer.

And now the World Cup winner, who is reportedly on Liverpool’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window, has suggested he would be prepared to walk out on the club amid negative headlines over his performances for France.

“After a while, of course criticism tires,” he is quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.

“Especially when you play for a team from your country and you give everything for your team as well

“In the end all this tires. Playing for France is different for those who come from abroad.

“I am here all the time, playing for PSG and with the French national team.

Liverpool are said to be eyeing up a move for Mbappe, who has previously heaped praise on boss Jurgen Klopp, yet they are likely to face competition for his signature.

It is believed Real Madrid are also keen to sign him after not bringing in a marquee Galactico signing last summer amid the coronavirus pandemic.
