Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic has made his wish to receive a contract offer from a Premier League club clear as his current deal at the San Siro approaches its expiration. The Croatian has spent seven years at Inter, winning last season’s Serie A title and this year’s Coppa Italia.
But the 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the current season, with several sides interested in offering him a move. Perisic has been a key part of Simone Inzaghi’s side, making 48 appearances in all competitions, mainly at left wing-back.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Inter have recognised his importance and offered him a new one-year contract with the option of a year’s extension. But while Inter have tabled that deal, the Croatian himself is ‘hoping’ to receive a ‘concrete offer’ from a Premier League club.
Chelsea are the main club mentioned as a potential English destination, with Thomas Tuchel set to target new wing-backs in the summer transfer window. Though it is seen as a ‘gamble’ given his age, Perisic would be ‘interested’ if the Blues make a move for him.

Newcastle could also be a potential option for the Croatian, given the Magpies are set for a major summer overhaul. For Eddie Howe, Perisic would bring the experience he needs to help turn the Toon into trophy contenders.
Juventus are also thought to be lining up a move for one of their rival’s star players, having experienced their first trophyless season since 2012. Juve are well aware of Perisic’s talents, having faced him since 2015, with Massimiliano Allegri charged with turning around the club’s fortunes on what is likely to be a limited budget.

Any offer will likely have to be more than Inter’s, which is for a figure in the region of £3.8million per year, after tax. Perisic did spend the 2019/2020 campaign on loan at Bayern Munich, but returned to help Antonio Conte’s men win the Scudetto last year.
Perisic has never played in the Premier League before, instead spending the majority of his career in Serie A or the Bundesliga. But Chelsea could still be tempted into a move for him, given his experience of fighting for those league titles and in the Champions League.
