Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher argue ‘who is Ant or Dec’ out of Sky Sports duo

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher disagreed when debating whether the former Manchester United defender was more like Ant McPartlin or Declan Donnelly of presenting duo Ant and Dec.

The former rivals and now punditry partners on Sky Sports have earned plenty of compliments over the years for their analysis as well as brutal banter on screen.

Neville, 46, and Carragher, 43, both posted on social media before Everton took on Burnley in the Premier League on Monday evening, joining usual host David Jones.

With the pair taking part in rehearsals during the day, conversation somehow turned to reality TV, and the show that has been hosted by Ant and Dec since the show started back in 2002.

Carra: "Are you a Love Island man or an I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here man?"

Neville: "I've never watched Love Island in my life. I know it's very popular but I've never watched it. I do like I'm a Celebrity because I like Ant and Dec. So I've watched that quite a bit."

Carra: "Are you the Ant or the Dec?"

Neville: "I think I'm the Ant."

With both Jones and Carragher disagreeing, the Liverpool hero said: "I don't think he's the Dec, I think he's something else."

With Neville concluding: "I think he's mispronounced Dec there."

Earlier in the day, fans were shocked to see a tense Twitter clash between the pair which discussed both Liverpool's actions during the pandemic and Neville's co-ownership of Salford City.

Neville initially posted: “Excelling themselves again @AvantiWestCoast. We haven’t loaded any cutlery packs this morning.

"Forget assessing Ronaldo on MNF (Monday Night Football) tonight, I’m covering this lot.

"Absolute shambles of a company. Morning everyone…”

Before posting on Carragher's photo: “You lot sold out to beat tiered lockdowns, won all the pilot events post CV, and now you’re celebrating a private contract partner of a Tory government.

"You write for the Telegraph, drink red wine, and stay in. a 5-star hotel in Whitehall. Mr James Carragher Ladies and Gentlemen!”

With Carragher saying: "The Roman Abramovich of league 2, who wants an independent regulator to regulate the Glazers but not the class of 92, used his testimonial money to build a hotel for the fans (they still have to pay & Sat was his biggest taking, let’s analyse that bit of Ronaldo on MNF!)"
