Chelsea fans laid into Frank Lampard after spotting a “leaked” tactic on social media before the Manchester City loss.

The Blues boss could only watch as his side conceded a 3-1 defeat to give them a run of one win in their last six games.

They only managed six shots on goal, with one of them coming on target, as they tried to catch out Pep Guardiola’s side wide before putting the ball into the penalty box.

And images of Stamford Bridge shared on the club’s official Instagram channel appear to echo this message.

Chelsea posted three images around the ground an half-an-hour before kick-off, with one coming behind the goal posts.

There is a red sign in the six-yard box which reads “CROSSING ONLY – Please use portable goals for all other drills and exercises.”

When these images were shared on Reddit, the Blues faithful suggested that it reflected Lampard’s tactics for the City game.

“Leaked tactics for the game against City,” one supporter said.

Another commented: “Lampard writing his tactics on the warning sign!”

While a third sarcastically wrote “Shocking they’ve just left confidential tactical out like that.”

With a fourth simply saying: “For f***s sake.”

Chelsea’s defeat saw them drop to eighth in the Premier League, four places and two points worse off than they were after 17 games in the 2019/20 campaign.

And Roy Keane held nothing back in his assessment of Lampard’s side after 45 minutes at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking on Sky Sports at half time, the former midfielder said: “The attacking players need to show up.

“We gave them a big build-up and said they have a lot of quality but they don’t look like they’re up for it.

“They need a miracle to get back into this one. They’ve been shocking, especially the attacking players.”

It comes as Keane’s colleague Graeme Souness also laid into Lampard’s attackers for their performance against City.
