Everton fans desperate for Marco Silva sacking after Liverpool humiliation

Everton fans are calling for Marco Silva’s dismissal after a humiliating loss in the Merseyside derby saw them slip into the relegation zone.

A brace from Divock Origi, plus strikes from Xherdan Shaqiri, Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum condemned the Toffees to a 5-2 loss, with Michael Keane and Richarlison’s goals ending up as consolations.

With just two wins in their last eleven Premier League fixtures and a tough set of games to follow against Chelsea , Manchester United and Arsenal , Everton could emerge from the Christmas period in real danger of going down.

The club spent more than £100m on transfers in the summer and only lost one regular starter in Idrissa Gana Gueye, who joined Paris Saint-Germain .

With a brand new stadium on the way and a billionaire owner, Everton simply cannot afford to start next season in the Championship and, as a result, a change in manager may be unavoidable.

The fans have already turned on Silva and have taken to Twitter to demand his sacking.

"The worst Merseyside Derby performance in years, that," one wrote. "Get Marco Silva out of Everton – he has to go now TONIGHT.

"I've never ever not celebrated an Everton goal and tonight I didn't flinch for either of them," fumed another Everton fan. "The soul is sucked out of our club right now. We need a change.
