Dele Alli 'banished from Besiktas squad' as nightmare loan continues

Dele Alli is ‘BANISHED from Besiktas’ squad and told to watch the remainder of the season from the stands by manager Senol Gunes’ as the Everton flop’s nightmare loan spell in Turkey continues

  • Dele Alli was left out of the matchday squad for Besiktas last two league games
  • Alli has reportedly been told to watch from the stands by manager Senol Gunes
  • Gunes has been highly critical of the midfielder during his loan spell at the club

Dele Alli has reportedly been told to watch the remainder of the Besiktas’ season from the stands, as his miserable spell in Turkey continues.

Alli has made 15 appearances for the Turkish side since joining on loan from Everton.

The former Tottenham star was absent from Besiktas matchday squad for their victorious over Ankaragucu and Istanbul Basaksehir this month.

Turkish outlet Takvim has claimed Besiktas manager Senol Gunes has banished Alli from his matchday squads for the remainder of the season.

Alli is expected to watch from the stands until his loan expires at the end of the season and he returns to Everton.

Alli had been looking rebuild his career on loan at Besiktas following a failed move to Everton

Gunes had slammed Alli back in January, insisting the midfielder ‘doesn’t deserve to play’.

The Besiktas manager had also publicly criticised the Englishman for his ineffectual performances in November after hauling him off at half-time against Umraniyespor.

Alli was handed a rare chance by Gunes in January, with the midfielder starring after being given a start in the Turkish Super Lig against Alanyaspor.

The 26-year-old scored and produced a man-of-the-match display in a 3-0 win.

Alli celebrated his goal by putting both fingers in his ears, in a message to his critics over recent months.

He received a standing ovation from the Besiktas supporters when substituted, prompting hope of a turnaround in his loan spell in Turkey.

The English midfielder played the full 90 minutes of their next match against Karagumuruk, but returned to the bench against Sivasspor.

Alli last appearance came against Antalyaspor last month, where he was taken off at half-time by Gunes.

Alli’s arrival had been greeted by fanfare but he has struggled to live up to expectations

Besiktas had reportedly wanted to send Dele Alli back to Everton due his struggles, but this was reportedly scuppered by the absence of a break clause in his loan agreement.

Alli’s nightmare loan continues a challenging couple of years for the midfielder, after falling out of favour at Tottenham.

He failed to make an impact after a move to Everton, leading to the club agreeing to loan him to Besiktas.

Besiktas are currently third in the Turkish Super Lig, lying 14 points adrift of table toppers Galatasaray.
