Daniel James names the three fastest players at Manchester United

Manchester United winger Daniel James has omitted Anthony Martial after naming the three fastest players in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.

The former Swansea winger joined the club in a £15m deal last summer and has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign at Old Trafford.

The rapid Welshman is widely recognised as the fastest player in the Premier League and he’s terrorised defenders this season with his pace.

United are not short of speed with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer placing huge importance on the fitness and pace of his squad since taking over.

James is the quickest in the squad but when asked to name who competes with him, the Welsh winger made the surprising claim that Diogo Dalot is one of the quickest at the club.

‘It would be me, Diogo [Dalot] and Marcus [Rashford].

‘I’ve not seen him full sprint, we’d have a good race I think.

‘Aaron [Wan-Bissaka] is very quick, I don’t think people realise how quick he is but [Diogo] is rapid. I don’t think you’ve probably seen it as much.’

The Premier League are currently discussing plans to restart the league start and reached a tentative agreement with the government this week to resume in June.

It would see games being played behind-closed-doors and is dependent on Britain hitting the peak of the pandemic in around 10 days’ time.

All players would have to follow the strictest of medical measurements and there’s an admittance that it could be further delayed by any setback.
