Cristiano Ronaldo was forced out of Juventus training on Wednesday morning after taking a blow to his right arm following a challenge from Alex Sandro. The 36-year-old was accompanied off the pitch by members of Juve’s medical team and will be assessed ahead of their game against Empoli on Saturday.

Speculation around Ronaldo’s future intensified at the weekend after the forward apparently asked to be named on the bench for his side’s 2-2 draw with Udinese.

The Portugal forward has one year remaining on his Juventus contract but reportedly wants to leave the club this summer.

Earlier this summer he ruled out a return to Real Madrid but Sunday’s benching has piqued the interest of Europe’s top clubs and he may soon find himself heading for the Juventus exit.

And it appears he could now have played his last game for the Italian giants.
