Bournemouth are closing on Sassuolo midfielder Hamed Traore for £26m including bonuses.

The Cherries have also ratified the loan signing of Matias Vina from Roma.

Dinamo Kiev’s Ukrainian centre back Ilya Zabarnyi, 20, is in talks to join Bournemouth.

Traore, who has been capped by Ivory Coast four times, joined Sassuolo in 2019.

Left-back Vina featured for Uruguay at the World Cup in Qatar.

AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake told the club website: ‘We are delighted to secure the services of Matias for at least the second half of the season.

‘Even though he only turned 25 in November, he arrives with a great deal of experience, including last season’s European success with Roma.

‘Our fourth recruit of the transfer window, Matias will provide strong competition for places in our youthful squad and we welcome him to AFC Bournemouth.’

He is also capable of operating as a centre-back and previously played for Palmeiras and Nacional.

Bournemouth have the option to sign the 25-year-old permanently in the summer. 

Zabarnyi has 20 caps for Ukraine and has featured prominently for Dinamo Kiev.
