Arsenal ‘reignite Zaha interest’ – and Crystal Palace will cash in this time

Arsenal have reignited their interest in Wilfried Zaha, with Crystal Palace expected to cash in on their prized asset.

The Gunners attempted to lure Zaha to the Emirates in 2019 – reportedly offering the south Londoners £40million for his services.

Palace rejected the offer out of hand, insisting on a higher fee for their star man, who was also attracting interest from Everton.

Emirates chiefs baulked at Zaha's price-tag and instead signed Nicolas Pepe from Lille for the not so insignificant fee of £72m.

Now the Ivory Coast international is back on Arsenal's radar – and this time it looks as though they might get their man.

According to, Palace are considering cashing in on Zaha ahead of an overhaul of their squad this summer.

The 28-year-old has just over two years left on his current deal at Selhurst Park and would still command a decent fee.

Arsenal will be required to sell players to finance a deal, but that shouldn't be a problem with an Emirates clear our imminent.

Mikel Arteta looks set to offload the likes of Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira and William Saliba, while there are question marks hanging over big names including Alexandre Lacazette.

The Frenchman is entering the final year of his contract and appears to be on his way out of north London this summer.

Money raised from those sales would help fund a deal for Zaha, who continues to impress for Palace.

Zaha has scored nine goals and contributed two assists for the south Londoners this term with the club 12th in the Premier League.

This could be the last chance the former Man United star gets to prove himself at one of the division's elite and it might not be a chance he's willing to waste.
