Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has a selection headache ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Liverpool.
The Gunners face the reigning Premier League champions as domestic football returns following the international break.
Though it has not been a good fortnight for Arteta with Emile Smith Rowe failing a late fitness test for England’s U21s.
He missed their final European Championship group stage clash against Croatia on Wednesday and may now miss out for Arsenal.
The young midfielder has been a regular since the turn of the year and has impressed for the Gunners.
Bukayo Saka is also likely to be out for the Liverpool clash having withdrawn from the senior England squad due to a hamstring issue.
Arteta said: “He [Saka] hasn't trained with the team yet. He's been doing some individual work.
“We had to pull him out of the England squad, unfortunately. But he's feeling better, but he hasn't trained with the team yet.
“Smith Rowe has some discomfort in his hip and that's why they decided to keep him out.
“I don't know – we will see today how he comes here, we will speak with the doctors and the physios and see if he is available for training tomorrow.
“Obviously we analyse periods during the season and we've done that now because we've had some time to think, to reflect and see a lot of the things that we are doing and as well, look at the direction we want to take for the future.”
