Antonio Conte has received a huge boost as Tottenham confirm a mass investment owing to a ‘capital increase’.
Ahead of the summer window, further revenue of £150million has landed in Spurs’ favour. Chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly promised the manager six new players ahead of next season.
The club announced on Tuesday in a statement: “Tottenham Hotspur Limited has, today, Tuesday 24 May 2022, agreed a capital increase of up to £150m from majority shareholder, ENIC Sports Inc (“ENIC”), via the issue of convertible A Shares and accompanying warrants. The equity injection provides the Premier League Club with greater financial flexibility and the ability to further invest on and off the pitch.”
Levy admitted that he was delighted at the news: “The delivery of a world-class home was always a key building block in driving diversified revenues to enable us to invest in the teams and support our ambitions to be consistently competing at the highest levels of European football," he said.
The north London side earned a Champions League spot this season after Conte turned around their fortunes but there have been some doubts as to whether he would continue past the summer but the promise of fresh legs in the window would be boosted by the recent financial development.

Even despite the side reaching a Champions League spot, Conte refused to rule out a possible departure from the club. "I'm under contract until next summer. I signed for one year and seven months," he said. "I enjoyed a lot my time at Tottenham because, I repeat, for me it was a big challenge.
"To come in during the season, for a coach like me, is not easy. It was a big challenge in a modern club with a fantastic stadium and training ground. For me this is a trophy and I'm very happy. Then we'll see. I always said at the end of the season we'll speak to the club and find the best solution for me and the club."
It is thought that director Fabio Paratici is looking to bring in two new wing-backs, a midfielder, a left-sided centre-back, another striker, and a goalkeeper.
