Alisson’s Man City display rated as worst in any Premier League game this season

Alisson's display against Manchester City was the worst by any Premier League player this season according to WhoScored ratings.

The Liverpool goalkeeper endured a horror afternoon as the Reds lost 4-1 against their rivals.

Jurgen Klopp's side were outplayed, but the Brazilian was particularly off form as he gifted City two goals.

Ilkay Gundogan converted from close range to put the visitors ahead before Mohamed Salah equalised.

But Alisson then gifted City two goals within three crucial second-half minutes.

His poor clearance landed at the feet of Phil Foden who drove into the box before setting Gundogan up to tap in.

The Reds goalkeeper then gave the ball away again to Bernardo Silva and he was able to square it for Raheem Sterling to score.

Foden's fourth, while being close to the keeper, was hit with so much pace that little blame was attributed to him.

But his rating of 3.73 is the worst by any player this season.

Fellow Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian has this year's third worst rating with a 3.83 that he was given after shipping seven at Aston Villa.

Southampton's Jan Bednarek was given a 3.80 vs Manchester United in their 9-0 defeat.

Klopp refused to criticise Alisson following the defeat however insisting he has been their saviour on several occasions.

He said: "We can't hide them (the Alisson mistakes), we don't have to talk around it. It's true as well.

"We didn't give a lot of options, especially in the first goal. In the second goal he just mishit the ball.

"There's no real reason, maybe he had cold feet. It sounds funny but could be.

"But it's still an opportunity to stick it in the stands. Ali has saved our life plenty of times, today he made two mistakes. That's how it is."
