The Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton sent a message to the racing world claiming that he is 'on another level' physically and mentally.
The 2020 season starts with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on 15 March and Hamilton is bidding to win his fourth title in a row and seventh in total.
A seventh championship would see the Brit equal Michael Schumacher's record for the most Drivers' Championship wins.
And the Mercedes driver has set the benchmark for the upcoming campaign, claiming he is feeling refreshed after the off-season and that his training has left him sharper than last season.
Speaking in a video shared on the Mercedes team Twitter account, Hamilton said: "It's been an incredible winter. I've had a lot of time with family and friends – probably one of the best times has been with my dad.
"Secondly, the training has been different this year so the feeling I have physically and mentally is on another level compared to last year. So that's a real positive.
"I miss the support of you guys! I know that and I hope wherever you are that 2020 started off well for you.
"I know that you guys are all gunning for number seven but I think we just have to take it one step at a time.
"We [Mercedes] have no idea where we are going to stand compared to everybody else, so just have to try and be more efficient this year in our test programme – particularly as we have less time and we still have a lot of work to do."
The 2019 season saw Hamilton win 11 of the 21 grands prix and pick up 413 points, blowing away nearest rival and team-mate Valtteri Bottas.
The upcoming season sees Formula One return to the Netherlands after a 35-year absence and the introduction of the Vietnam Grand Prix – a street circuit in Hanoi.
