Fernando Alonso fuels Taylor Swift dating rumours with another video

Formula One icon Fernando Alonso fuels Taylor Swift dating rumours for a SECOND time as he posts another cheeky video with a cryptic reference to the music superstar

  • Pair first romantically linked two weeks ago
  • It’s the second time Alonso has referenced Swift
  • F1 star was asked about her at the Azerbijan GP

The rumour that Fernando Alonso is dating Taylor Swift just won’t go away – and the F1 legend is breathing new life into the speculation with a new TikTok video containing a hidden reference to the pop star.

Alonso’s new video shows him lifting a 22-kilogram dumbbell in a gym while Swift’s song ’22’ plays in the background – with the two-time world champion winking at the camera and captioning the clip ‘Im lifting 22s’ with a winking smiley face emoji.

It’s similar to his first video referencing Swift, which was posted a week ago and saw him scrolling through his phone while listening to her hit ‘Karma’ before winking at his fans.

Alonso pointed out that he was lifting a 22-kilogram weight in his latest TikTok video (pictured) in a clear reference to one of Swift’s many smash-hit songs

That clip came after he was first romantically tied to Swift in an Instagram post on the Deuxmoi account two weeks ago, which quoted an anonymous email reading: ‘A couple of Spanish magazines have been posting about TS [Swift] and Spanish F1 driver Fernando Alonso.

‘According to them, the couple has been seeing each other for a week now. Nothing serious tho since they are both recently single.’

Swift made headlines when she split from long-term boyfriend Joe Alwyn earlier this month, around the same time Alonso revealed he’d parted ways with girlfriend Andrea Schlager.

Fans were delighted by Fernando’s latest TikTok post.

‘He’s using Taylor’s version! What a good boyfriend!’ one commented.

‘OMG! Look what she made you do… I think you know all too well what you’re doing. Good luck on Sunday driving the getaway car,’ another wrote, referencing another Swift song.

‘We appreciate nando using taylors version. We love a supportive king,’ added a third.

The rumours – no doubt helped along by the champion driver’s videos – have gained traction to the point where they were referenced during the telecast of last weekend’s Azerbijan Grand Prix, where Alonso finished fourth.

The rumours linking Swift (pictured at her concert in Atlanta on April 28) to Alonso have kept growing – with more than a little help from the F1 star

Alonso was asked about the rumours at last weekend’s Azerbijan Grand Prix, and TV pundits even got in on the action by mentioning Swift’s songs in commentary

F1 pundit Karun Chandhok and his Sky Sports colleague David Croft were discussing the Spaniard’s opening lap when they joked about him and Swift.

Chandhok said: ‘Fernando Alonso’s found a bit of blank space there ahead of him… with Lewis Hamilton half a straight ahead.’

Croft couldn’t help but laugh after hearing his Sky Sports colleague reference Swift’s hit 2014 song ‘Blank Space’.

Croft was also heard saying: ‘Alonso is currently the fourth fastest car, perhaps some would say he is driving a getaway car, maybe that might cause some bad blood’.

The not so subtle remark was in reference to Swifts ‘Getaway Car’ song from 2017 and her hit ‘Bad Blood’ from 2014.

They were also heard referencing her songs: ‘Don’t blame me’, ‘Style’, ‘Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve’, ’22’ and ‘Mastermind’.

Unlike the Spanish F1 icon, Swift has remained tight-lipped about the rumours – refusing to make a comment or a single social media post about them

One of the remarks was: ‘Number 22 is not Alonso’s favourite car number but a Swift check of the facts and it might well be.’

Crofty continued: ‘On the subject of 22, which is now of course our favourite song and number…’.

A reporter at the race also referred to Swift’s hits when he asked Alonso: ‘I have to ask this one or I would be leaving a Blank Space but, and I know it is potentially your Love Story and nobody else’s.’

The Aston Martin driver would not be drawn and replied: ‘I usually keep my personal and professional life apart. I prefer not to comment on it.’

Swift has remained tight-lipped on the rumours, not making a single comment on the matter in public or online.
