New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was a San Francisco Giants fan growing up, and he has spent his entire NFL career in the Boston area.
So it's pretty evident where his fan loyalty lies ahead of the World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
"It couldn't have set up any better for the Red Sox to win the World Series," Brady said in a radio interview Monday morning, "and I think they're going to do it."
In an interview with WEEI in Boston, Brady confirmed that he still hates the Dodgers – a longtime rival of his childhood team. And when asked if there were any specific Dodgers players that used to drive him crazy, he simply replied, "There's a lot of them."
Brady said he's since become a Red Sox fan, watching them win World Series titles in 2004, 2007 and 2013. New England has won three Super Bowls of its own during that same span.
The Red Sox's latest championship pursuit will begin Tuesday with Game 1 at Fenway Park.
"It's going to be a lot of fun to watch," Brady said on WEEI. "It's been a while since they've been to the World Series, but everyone's paying attention, everyone's following them, they've had an incredible season and we're all cheering them on. It's going to be pretty sweet."
