Tennessee were the first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their matchup against the Chargers on Sunday. Tennessee and the Chargers were almost perfectly matched up, but Tennessee suffered an agonizing 19-20 loss. Tennessee can’t seem to catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
On a positive note, Marcus Mariota put forth a good effort for the losing side as he accumulated 237 passing yards and picked up 38 yards on the ground.
Among those leading the charge for the Chargers was Philip Rivers, who passed for 306 yards and 2 touchdowns. If you haven’t heard Rivers’s name lately, then you haven’t been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past seven games.
The defeat dropped Tennessee’s record to 3-4. The win was the 4th in a row for the Chargers raised their record to 5-2.
Tennessee will be staying on the road in two weeks, facing off against Dallas. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they’ll have plenty of motivation to get the ‘W’. The Chargers will have some time to rest before their next match, which is against Seattle at 5:05 p.m..
