The College Football Playoff on New Year’s Day begins with the Rose Bowl, but it isn’t taking place in its traditional home of Pasadena, California. That’s just one of many things that has been different about the 2020 season.
One thing that hasn't changed, however, is the presence of Alabama as the top seed and odds-on favorite. Sure, the Crimson Tide missed the playoff last year thanks in part to LSU’s historic season. But they’re back and, possibly, better than ever with a star-studded offense that features two Heisman Trophy finalists, QB Mac Jones and WR DeVonta Smith, and standout running back Najee Harris, who was also worthy of consideration.
They’ll be opposed by No. 4-seed Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish are in the semifinals for the second time in the playoff era, making the most of their season as honorary Atlantic Coast Conference members.
Here are the particulars for your viewing enjoyment.
