Patrick Mahomes didn’t walk away from Super Bowl 55 with a victory, but he still has a big reason to celebrate.

The Chiefs star and his fiancee, Brittany Matthews, announced the birth of their first child Sunday. Sterling Skye Mahomes, a baby girl who arrived on Saturday, weighed in at six pounds and 11 ounces.

Kansas City landmark Union Station celebrated the birth of Sterling with a pink and white light display. Mahomes tweeted out his appreciation: “Love this city.”

Mahomes and Matthews announced in September that they were expecting their first child and shared a gender reveal video in October.

Before this year’s Super Bowl, Mahomes joked about wanting Matthews to “hold off” on giving birth until after the big game. It turns out baby Sterling heard dad’s instructions.
