Bills’ Josh Allen shows off ridiculous arm on three throws in playoff game vs. Colts
NFL

What a difference a year makes.

Josh Allen has had quite the turnaround from inaccurate passer in Year 1 to dominant football thrower in Year 3. And those who doubted Allen’s arm talent heading into the 2020 playoffs should quickly have them erased.

Allen, leading his team down field with a 3-0 deficit to the Colts, showcased his unique arm talent on three separate throws: a flick of the wrist to Stefon Diggs, a scrambling bullet pass to Gabriel Davis and a remarkable tumbling touchdown toss to Dawson Knox to pull the Bills ahead.

First, the easy pass to Diggs: an off balance, quick release. Diggs rewarded the toss with a nice, 36-yard grab.

The second, a rollout strike to Davis for another 16 yards:

Allen’s third pass put the finishing touches on the drive: a perfectly placed touchdown pass to tight end Knox as he was being taken down to the turf:

If the Bills are going all the way this year, expect it to come on the arm of Allen, who greatly improved accuracy to all parts of the field in 2020. Known primarily in seasons past as a run-first quarterback, Allen finished the regular season with a very nice 69.2 percent completion rate, 37 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions.

The Colts got a look at his much-improved arm talent firsthand on Sunday.
