Tiger Woods’ car ‘hit curb and tree’ before rolling over in hillside crash

Tiger Woods has suffered 'serious injuries to both his legs' and is undergoing emergency surgery after being involved in a horrific crash.

The golf icon was also reportedly travelling at "greater speed than normal" when his car hit a curb and a tree, police have said.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident, which took place morning time in LA on Tuesday.

His car rolled off the road in Rancho Palos Verdes and he was conscious after the crash, Fox News reports.

He suffered multiple injuries to his legs, although not deemed life-threatening, are reportedly serious.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department say Tiger had been driving downhill before the incident happened, and added it was a "traffic hotspot for collisions".

ABC news reported an investigation into whether Woods was under the influence of alcohol or narcotics showed there were 'none present' in his system.

Agent Mark Steinberg had said: "Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries.

"He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support."

The County Sherriff's department said: “On February 23, 2021, at approximately 7:12AM, LASD responded to a single vehicle roll-over traffic collision on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes.

The vehicle was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard, at Blackhorse Road, when it crashed. The vehicle sustained major damage.

“The driver and sole occupant was identified as PGA older, Eldrick “Tiger” Woods.

“Mr Woods was extricated from the wreck with the “jaws of life” by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital for his injuries.

“The traffic investigation is being conducted by investigators from LASD Lomita Station.”
