Emma Raducanu's incredible 12-month body transformation has left fans stunned.

Fans are used to seeing the British ace's slim and slender frame on the tennis court. But the 20-year-old looked completely different when she competed at Indian Wells earlier this week.

Supporters were shocked when she waltzed on the court sporting a much bulkier physique, with leaner shoulders and muscular thighs, compared to when she was seen on court in 2022. Raducanu embarked on a rigorous training regime under physical conditioning specialist Jez Green last year to help combat her perpetual injuries, which seems to have done the trick.

She gave fans a glimpse of her intense training journey when she released a clip lifting four times her body weight in February 2022. At the time, the brunette weighed around 55kg, and was snapped lifting 180kg with 20kg weights during a gruelling gym session.

And after revealing her latest physical development, fans reckon she could return to the form that saw her lift the 2021 US Open. One user said: "Step in the right direction if she’s gonna stay fit. Those shoulders look strong," and a second fan commented: "Much more muscle mass."

A third supported added: "Her off-season work with Jez Green obviously paid dividends. Looks like a professional tour athlete now and not a junior.” Then a fourth said: "Damn, looks like she’s been training. Can’t wait to see what she’ll be bringing in 2023.”

And a fifth fan mused: "You can really see she’s put on muscle. I thought her legs were looking stronger than when she won the USO but it’s clear when you see a side by side like this." But unfortunately, Raducanu's stong limbs weren't able to prevent her from crashing out of the Indian Wells tournament to defending champion Iga Swiatek who won the clash 6-3 6-1.

But despite the loss, Raducanu was feeling optimistic about her performance and the future. She said: "I think overall I can say it was a positive week for me. The team, I think we had a run of three really good matches.

"It was a good experience today playing Iga on that court at night. I think the conditions are very slow and heavy and favoured her. But, yeah, it's just good to see where I'm at.

"I think it's been a good 10 days. I haven't trained particularly much before the tournament, but I feel like I'll probably take a day to recover tomorrow physically, because since the tournament started, I have done a little bit of something every day. So (I will) reset a bit mentally and physically tomorrow, and then take it from there."
