Aaron Rodgers will not be affected by his difficult summer with the Green Bay Packers quarterback having “something to prove” this season.
That’s the verdict of former NFL star Jason Bell with Rodgers having demanded a trade from the Packers during the off-season.
He ended up staying at Lambeau Field, despite skipping voluntary organised team activities and a mandatory minicamp.
Now Rodgers, 37, starts the road to what he hopes will be his second Super Bowl title, with the new season getting underway this weekend.
Fellow veteran QB Tom Brady got Tampa Bay’s season off to a winning start with a last-second win over Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.
The Packers take on New Orleans Saints on Sunday, though BBC pundit Bell believes Rodgers will be on top form despite his tumultuous summer.
“For some reason, Aaron Rodgers finds a way to motivate him himself,” Bell said. “So I think that's exactly what will happen.
“Once again, he made a very good point of saying he loves his team-mates, he loves his coaches, he loves everybody he's on the field with.
“His problem was with the front office, that happens all the time in football. We as players, when we get on the field we're not worried about that.

“So I think he's actually got this team to kind of rally behind him.”
