Jon Jones reveals plans to be ‘the same size or BIGGER’ than 263-pound Francis Ngannou for heavyweight title bout as American believes UFC fans ‘want to see two titans fight’ with negotiations for mega-bout stalling
- Jon Jones is planning to enter his fight with Francis Ngannou bigger than his rival
- Jones, 32, is bulking up for a move from 205 pounds to the heavyweight division
- The American revealed he wants to be the same size as the ‘titan’ champion
- Ngannou weighed in at 263 pounds for his title victory over Stipe Miocic
- Talks over a fight have stalled with Jones demanding more than £7m
Jon Jones’ body transformation journey will be complete when he is bigger than Francis Ngannou, the former 205-pound champion revealed as he targets a mega-fight with the heavyweight ‘titan’.
‘Bones’ is currently embroiled in another bitter feud with UFC chiefs and last week said an offer of £7million would be way too low to take on Ngannou, the newly-crowned champion.
The 32-year-old last year vacated his light heavyweight title to begin bulking up for his move to the bigger division, having cleaned out two generations of contenders to reign supreme over the 205-pound ranks.

Despite the lack of progress in negotiations with the UFC, Jones says he remains focused on training and is looking to become the same size as ‘titan’ Ngannou, who weighed in at 263 pounds for his last fight against Stipe Miocic.
‘Right now, we’re just training. We’re training and just focusing on things we can control, which is being in the best shape and I think me just getting in shape sells the fight even more,’ Jones told FightHype.
‘People want to see two titans and Francis is already a titan and I’m trying to become a titan. I want to look like a titan.

Jones said that UFC fans ‘want to see two titans fight’ in one what would be a mega-bout
‘I want to be the same size as this guy if not bigger when we get out there. I’ve got a lot of work to do. Hopefully, the fight happens. We’ve just got to stay focused, stay training, and see what the UFC is going to do on their part.’
Fans have been left stunned by Jones’ impressive body transformation, although there are concerns that the American’s increase in size could hamper his mobility in the octagon.
The 32-year-old, who has reportedly put on three stone in weight, insists that training has been ‘awesome’ and that he feels like a ‘total athlete’.

‘It feels awesome to train heavy. Good to eat whatever I want, obviously I’m on a great diet right now but get to eat tons of food, a lot of rest,’ Jones added.
‘Right now, I’m just living like a total athlete. I’m excited to compete at my full potential going in there without a weight cut. I have two brothers that are really big boys and I feel like this is the guy I was supposed to be the whole time.’
As it stands, Jones and the UFC have made no progress in agreeing a showdown with Ngannou later this year. According to ESPN, UFC chiefs have considered booking Derrick Lewis to take on Ngannou instead.
Jones and the UFC have not reached an agreement for the Ngannou fight yet amid a £7m offer
Mike Winkeljohn, Jones’ coach, believes the fight with Ngannou could be worth around £36m to his man if the UFC were willing to give him his worth.
‘I don’t see why it wouldn’t be a $50 million fight’, he told Submission Radio. ‘And the UFC still makes bank, and is able to pay off a lot of the debt they have and go forward. I think the UFC needs a superstar like Jon Jones.
‘Conor McGregor was the guy for a while, and he’s fallen off. But those big names is what makes the UFC money, ultimately.’
