Tiger Roll is not a Cheltenham Festival banker in the eyes of a rival trainer, as he believes his horse has what it takes to spoil the party.
Emmanuel Clayeux has faith veteran and course winner Urgent De Gregaine (red cap in video) can win the Glenfarclas Chase on Ladies Day, March 11.
The 12-year-old has been beaten by Tiger Roll in the marathon unconventional contest for the past two seasons, trailing home 23 lengths behind him in 2019.
But from his French stables where he bred last year's Gold Cup winner Al Boum Photo, Clayeux said he hopes he can make the ground up on his Aintree history-making opponent.
"Yes of course," he said when asked if his chaser can beat him.
"He must be tired now!"
Clayeux added: "I think Urgent is in better form this year than last.
"He looks better and is in good form, mentally as much as anything.
"Diesel (D'Allier) was getting 22lbs when he beat him (at Cheltenham in November 2019) and now they are at level weights."
Fellow French raider Easysland, a recent purchase by JP McManus, is the strongest opponent to Tiger Roll according to the market, with Urgent De Gregaine at odds of 12/1.
