Wide draws to several leading contenders looks set to level the playing field in Saturday’s Group 2 Hollindale Stakes with Godolphin star Avilius favoured to break a 19-month winless run at the Gold Coast.
The James Cummings-trained seven-year-old will jump from barrier nine and holds top billing at $5.50 with TAB fixed odds for the 1800m test after garnering early support for the feature event.
Avilius opened a $6 equal favourite alongside Zaaki for the Hollindale, with the latter drifting to become a $6.50 second pick in early betting after drawing gate 14.
However, a blanket could cover the top six or seven in the market.
