‘My god’: Brutal KO stuns MMA world

The Professional Fighter’s League 2019 season featherweight division debut has rocked the Mixed Martial Arts world with a series of crazy knockouts on Friday morning (AEST).

The night of brutal action was headlined by Movlid Khaybulaev’s walk-off flying knee shot that TV commentators said separated fighter Damon Johnson from his consciousness.

Fighting on the PFL 13 card at Nassau Coliseum in New York, the second event of the PFL 2019 season, Khaybulaev made a statement with a stunning first round knockout just 10 seconds into the fight.

The perfect start took the Russian fighter straight to the top of the featherweight division with a six point victory in MMA’s only competition where fighters compete in a year-long season before playoffs and a championship showdown decide annual champions and a monster $1 million payday.

The win saw Khaybulaev improve to a perfect 14-0 in his MMA career and marks him as a star to watch out for.

He was able to catch Johnson with a devastating right knee after his Texan opponent misread an apparent takedown lunge and instead leaned with his head directly into the full force of Khaybulaev’s punishing strike.

Johnson crumpled to the floor immediately with Khaybulaev not even bothering to make sure of the finish by following up the knee with ground punches.

As soon as the knee connected, Khaybulaev was spotted darting to the top of the cage to celebrate as his opponent collapsed to the deck.

The devastating blow blew minds around the MMA world on Friday.

Johnson was unable to get up for an extended period of time and was still lying on the floor minutes later as the event was delayed following the official result.

A stretcher was brought to the cage to help Johnson get taken away for medical treatment, but he was eventually able to stand up and walk out of the cage on his own two feet.

It wasn’t the only stunning knockout to come out of PFL 13.

Minutes later Luis Rafael Laurentino caused an upset in his PFL debut by rocking UFC veteran Jeremy Kennedy with a powerful head kick.

Laurentino also pulled off his six-point victory early in the first round.

The high left leg kick caught Kennedy right across the head, dropping him instantly.

Laurentino then followed it up with punches on the deck before referee Yves Lavigne jumped in to stop the fight.

The kick clearly stunned Kennedy who was spotted trying to wrestle the fight official who waved off the fight.
