Manchester United star Pogba is being linked with Real Madrid again following Zinedine Zidane’s sensational return to the Bernabeu as manager.
The France international nearly joined Los Blancos in the summer of 2016 but, on that occasion, he chose to return to the Red Devils instead.
Real Madrid are expected to spend big this summer, though, and Manchester United star Pogba appears to be a priority target.
At the start of the season he was stuck in a rut under Jose Mourinho.
But he has flourished since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment as interim manager, finding the net nine times.
He has also caught the eye for France, starring in Didier Deschamps’ side’s 4-1 victory over Moldova on Friday night.
And, with Real midfielders Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Isco all enduring difficult campaigns, Pogba is now on their radar.
However, Spanish outlet Ok Diario claim that United may be able to keep hold of the player for three reasons.
One is Real’s rocky relationship with Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola.
Raiola is an unpopular figure among footballing fans and Madrid president Florentino Perez is yet to sign a single of his clients.
He also demands big agent fees in negotiations and that gives United a major advantage.
Secondly, United have an advantage in the sense they can demand a huge price for the player.
Pogba is a talismanic presence at Old Trafford and one of the first names on the team sheet most weeks.
United, it is claimed, would likely demand a significant increase on the £89million they paid to sign Pogba two years ago.
And Ok Diario say a third advantage is that the Red Devils do not want to sell.
Pogba is too vital for the cause and Solskjaer’s ability to get the best from the World Cup winner bodes well for the future.
What that means for Real, however, is something only time will tell.
