- But PSG team-mate and compatriot Dani Alves backed him to stay in Paris
- ‘Should I bet the Eiffel Tower? I believe that he will stay with PSG,’ he said
Dani Alves says he would ‘bet the Eiffel Tower’ that Neymar will still be a PSG player next season.
Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested in the Brazilian striker but Alves is adamant his compatriot will remain at the Ligue 1 club.
When asked if he would bet a dinner that Neymar would stay, he told ESPN: ‘A dinner is not enough. Should I bet the Eiffel Tower? I believe that he will stay with PSG.’

The flamboyant forward has been out injured for a large portion of the campaign and watched from the sidelines as Thomas Tuchel’s side were knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester United.
Despite the Ligue 1 dominance and retention of their crown, it is silverware in Europe’s top competition that excites Neymar.
According to Alves, his desire to win is becoming ‘manic’. He’s in a period of transition. The results aren’t coming and he’s becoming manic in how much he wants them to come.

‘He has to take advantage of his free time to think about what he can do to make everything bigger, better, and to be in a better place.
‘He’s not happy with the results, and unless they change he won’t be happy.’
The 27-year-old joined PSG from Barcelona in a world record £198million transfer back in 2017.
Any attempt to lure him away from the French side would surely command an exorbitant fee.
