Emery says Denis Suarez is ready to start for Arsenal after six substitute appearances.

The midfielder, who is on loan from Barcelona, has had to get used to the bench since arriving at the club in January. Emery is considering whether to hand the Spaniard his first start in a Gunners shirt when they take on Newcastle.

‘He is OK for starting in the first XI, to give us this impact,’ Emery said.

‘I think now our focus is collectively a very strong focus to help, in 90 minutes, 30 minutes or one minute.

‘We are going to need everybody, every player for the next matches.’

Asked whether it had taken Suarez time to settle, Emery said: ‘I think it’s normal. Now we have a lot of players ready, with a big mentality with a big performance to play and help us.

‘For me like that, we can be stronger, more competitive for taking the big performance, with Denis or with another player.’
