Anthony Davis points to free agent Lakers must sign to help LeBron James

Anthony Davis likes the idea of the Los Angeles Lakers going after Jamal Crawford if they’re looking to add a scorer to help LeBron James.

The Lakers have made a strong start to the new season, winning six of their opening seven matches to move them top of the Western Conference.

LeBron James has been in sensational form and recorded his third straight triple-double in their latest win over the Chicago Bulls.

Davis has also blended in quickly alongside the four-time MVP with players such as Avery Bradley, Dwight Howard, Danny Green and Kyle Kuzma all producing strong performances.

The Lakers still have an available roster spot, and they have a few months to contemplate whether or not they want to fill it and with who.

Jamal Crawford remains one of the marquee free agents without a team having left the Phoenix Suns last season.

And Davis would love to see the 39-year-old join up with the Lakers.

“We look good right now and starting to get guys back,” he told Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson.

“We got Kuz [Kyle Kuzma] back and we got to get [Rajon] Rondo back soon.

“So it just depends what we need.

“If it comes to the point where we need a playmaker then we going to get a playmaker.

“If we need another scorer then we’re going to add another scorer.

When asked what he thought about Crawford, Davis said: “Instant scorer.

“If we’re looking for a scorer then he’s definitely on that list. He can score at will.

“He knows the game, very crafty with the ball so if we’re looking for a scorer then he’s definitely a guy I can see us going after.”

And Davis’ comments clearly caught the attention of Crawford himself as he replied to a video of the Lakers star’s comments with: “Interesting, respect AD!”
